This class starts in the classroom. It is here that students will first learn the importance of firearm safety. Students will then learn about the history, function, and responsibilities associated with carrying a firearm. Students then move on learning: the Use of Force, Maryland Firearms Laws, weapon nomenclature, how to disassemble, clean and maintain a firearm the basics of marksmanship and how to properly shoot the Maryland Practical Pistol course for security professionals. Upon completion of the classroom portion students will put it all together on the range. Performing practical exercises on how to safely and effectively handle, load and unload a firearm before moving on to the basics of marksmanship, upon satisfactory completion of the aforementioned students will complete a live fire qualification of the Maryland Practical Pistol Course for security professionals.
